About this spot
Mishima-dori Avenue, running from Mishima Taisha to Mishima Hiroko-ji Station, becomes the main venue where festival floats are carried during the festival. Food stalls and restaurants line the waterways nearby, convenient for grabbing a bite before the festival. As evening approaches, men in festival attire begin passing by, and you can feel the mounting excitement of the approaching festival.

2026年は8月15日から17日まで開催される、三嶋大社の例大祭に合わせた伊豆地方最大級の夏祭りです。三嶋大社前から三島広小路駅前にかけての三島大通りを舞台に、彫刻の施された豪華な山車が「しゃぎり」と呼ばれるお囃子とともに練り歩き、勇壮な手筒花火が夜空に火柱を上げます。三島囃子の音色と熱気に包まれた通りは大勢の見物客で埋め尽くされ、水の都・三島の夏を象徴する一大イベントです。
Tips
大通り沿いは開始前から場所取りが始まります。手筒花火は火の粉が飛ぶことがあるため、係員の案内に従い十分距離を取って見物しましょう。周辺は大規模な交通規制がかかるため公共交通機関の利用がおすすめです。
