A roadside station facing Shimoda Harbor, offering local seafood specialties like seafood donburi made from local fish and dried fish, along with souvenirs. From inside the facility, you can view fishing boats and tour boats anchored in Shimoda Harbor, allowing you to enjoy your meal while experiencing the atmosphere of a seaside city. It's conveniently located to handle both dinner and souvenir shopping before the main drum festival event.

2026年は8月14日から15日まで開催される、下田八幡神社を中心とした港町・下田の夏祭りです。市内各町内の太鼓連が趣向を凝らした演奏を披露し、力強い太鼓の音が海に面した街並みに響き渡ります。黒船来航の歴史を持つ港町らしく、開放的な雰囲気の中で行われる太鼓の競演は、伊豆の夏を締めくくる勇壮なひとときです。
Tips
神社周辺は開始前から見物客で賑わいます。良い場所で見たい場合は16時台には到着しておくと安心です。小さな子どもは太鼓の音の大きさに驚くことがあるので、様子を見ながら観覧しましょう。
Tips
About 5 minutes by car from Ryosenji Temple. Evenings can get crowded with tourists, so arriving a bit early is recommended. When taking fresh seafood to go, having a cooling bag is helpful.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour. The harbor scenery is especially beautiful when bathed in the sunset glow.
