This temple holds a main hall that, unusually among the Shikoku pilgrimage sites, is designated a National Treasure, and a beautiful five-story pagoda rises within its grounds. The spacious grounds, surrounded by trees, are quiet and have a calm atmosphere fitting for the finale of a pilgrimage. The beauty of the temple complex is striking even to children unfamiliar with Buddhist architecture.
Tips
About a 10-minute drive from Shusshakaji Temple. The grounds are flat and easy to walk, and the five-story pagoda is impressive even just viewed from outside.
