A seaside park famous for Japan's longest foot bath, stretching approximately 100 meters. Within the park, lava fields remain from the 1914 Taisho major eruption, allowing you to feel the powerful forces of nature up close. 2026年の月読神社六月灯は7月30日(木)に開催されます。桜島横山町に鎮座する月読神社の境内が、日が暮れるとともに灯籠の明かりに包まれ、活火山のふもとならではの厳かな雰囲気が広がります。六月灯は鹿児島県内各地の神社仏閣で夏に行われる伝統行事で、地域の人々が奉納した灯籠が参道を彩ります。昼間に見た迫力ある桜島の姿とは対照的な、静かで温かい灯りに包まれる夜の時間を家族で味わえます。
Tips
会場周辺は道幅が狭い箇所もあるため、徒歩での来場が安心です。夜は足元が暗くなるので、小さな子ども連れは手をつないで歩きましょう。桜島は活火山のため、当日の火山情報は事前に確認しておくと安心です。
Tips
If using the foot bath, bring a towel. Summer sun is intense, so a hat is recommended as the park lacks shade. The lava fields have unstable footing in places, so keep close watch on small children.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour. The mid-afternoon hours are recommended when the sea breeze is pleasant.
