Located on the western side of Kuroshima, this sandy beach ranks among the island's most beautiful destinations. The contrast between pure white coral sand and highly transparent waters is stunning, and with shallow waters and gentle waves, you can enjoy leisurely walks and water play. Facing westward, depending on the time of day, you can even watch the sunset over the ocean—perfect for spending a quiet moment in the evening before the Harvest Festival.

黒島の島民が一年で最も大切にする伝統行事のひとつで、五穀豊穣への感謝と来年の豊作を祈願する祭りです。2026年は8月2日に開催予定。奉納相撲や獅子舞、棒術といった多彩な芸能が島の広場や御嶽で次々と披露され、島民総出で祭りを支える様子から、離島ならではの結束の強さを感じられます。観光地化されすぎていない、素朴で温かい島の祭りの姿にふれられる貴重な一日です。
Tips
黒島は港周辺以外に商店が少ないため、飲み物や軽食は早めに調達しておきましょう。祭りは地域の神事を含むため、見学の際は案内に従い、静かに見守る姿勢を心がけてください。フェリーの最終便の時間は事前に確認しておくと安心です。

About 15 minutes by bicycle from Nakamoto Beach. There are no shops or vending machines, so prepare beverages in advance. There's little shade, so take frequent breaks.
Best time to visit
Approximately 45 minutes. The beach looks most beautiful in the soft evening light.
