Witness the traditional dance performed by dancers wearing large taiko drums
About this spot
The 2026 'Isaku Taiko Dance' takes place over two days, August 28 (Friday) and 29 (Saturday), throughout the Fukiage area of Hiki City, centered at Nanpo Shrine. For this course, we've built the day around making the opening night the star. The sight of dancers, each wearing a large taiko drum on their body, dancing in a circle with vigorous shouts is truly powerful, showcasing a folk art passed down through generations in this region. Being able to see this dance, carefully preserved and passed down by local people across generations, becomes a precious experience for families.
