Plenty of river play splashing about in the shallows by the riverbed

About this spot

Kasagi Campground (笠置キャンプ場) is a year-round free site spreading across the riverbed downstream of Kasagi Ohashi Bridge along the Kizugawa River (木津川) in Kasagi Town, Soraku District, Kyoto Prefecture. No reservation is needed, and its appeal is being able to visit casually whenever the mood strikes. The shallows extend gently from the riverbank, easy for children to wade into, and in the clear stream they can splash about and step across stones, playing with nature itself. Surrounded by lush green mountains with plenty of shade along the riverbank, it is a comfortable environment even on hot summer days.
