Michi-no-Eki Rest Station Kasagi (道の駅レストステーション笠置) is a rest facility on the banks of the Kizugawa River, with a shop handling local vegetables and specialty products as well as a restaurant. Besides having a proper meal before river play, it is also handy for stocking up on drinks and daily necessities. From the terrace seats you can look out over the flow of the Kizugawa River, making it a comfortable place to take a break.

笠置キャンプ場は、京都府相楽郡笠置町の木津川沿い、笠置大橋下流の河川敷に広がる通年営業のフリーサイトです。予約は不要で、思い立ったときに気軽に訪れられるのが魅力です。河原からゆるやかに続く浅瀬は子どもでも入りやすく、澄んだ流れの中で水しぶきをあげたり石を渡ったりと、自然そのものを相手に遊べます。周囲は緑豊かな山々に囲まれ、河原には木陰も多いため、夏の暑い日でも過ごしやすい環境です。

Tips

増水時は流れが速くなることがあるため、事前に天候や水量の情報を確認してから訪れましょう。フリーサイトのため設備は最小限で、日よけのタープや飲み物は持参するのが安心です。ライフジャケットなどの浮力具があるとより安全に遊べます。

It is easy to stop at on the way to Kasagi Campground. During the summer holidays it can get crowded at lunchtime, so arriving a little earlier lets you dine calmly.
