Toei Kyoto Studio Park (東映太秦映画村) is a theme park built around a working period-drama film studio. Sprawling open sets recreate the streets of the Edo period, and there is plenty to captivate children, including ninja action shows and costume transformation corners. Filming for period dramas still takes place here, so if you are lucky you may catch a shoot in progress. It is a perfect morning sightseeing spot for soaking up Kyoto's traditional Japanese atmosphere.

京都アクアリーナは、西京極総合運動公園内にある屋内プール施設です。通年営業で、営業時間は9時から21時まで。火曜日は休館日ですが、7月・8月は無休で利用できます。屋内施設のため天候や気温に左右されず、雨の日や真夏の猛暑日でも快適に水遊びを楽しめるのが大きな魅力です。複数のプールが用意されており、しっかり泳ぎたい人から水に浮かんでのんびり過ごしたい子どもまで、それぞれのペースで利用できます。更衣室やシャワーも完備されているため、観光でたっぷり歩いたあとでも身支度を整えて気持ちよく過ごせます。

Tips

料金や当日の混雑状況、水泳帽の要否などは公式サイトで事前に確認しておくと安心です。西京極駅・西京極総合運動公園からのアクセスが良く、公共交通機関での来場もしやすい立地です。夕方以降は空き始めることが多いので、混雑を避けたい場合は時間をずらすのも一案です。

Shows run on set start times, so checking the schedule on the official website in advance will help your visit go smoothly. Many of the sets are outdoors, so bring a hat and drinks in summer.
