Walk the valley-side path and enjoy water play in the shallows

About this spot

This is a signature valley water-play spot of the Boso Peninsula, open at all times except when access is restricted during high water or after typhoons. A walking path centred on Awamata Falls is maintained, so you can walk while taking in falls large and small and the shallows. If you choose the shallower places, even small children can touch the water safely alongside a guardian. The valley water is cold, so playing during the sunnier hours is recommended. It makes for a stretch of quintessentially Boso water play, wrapped in deep green nature.
