Tenkawa Dai-Benzaiten-sha Shrine (天河大辨財天社) is an ancient shrine counted among Japan's three great Benzaiten shrines and widely cherished as the guardian shrine of all Tenkawa Village. Its grounds, cradled by deep mountains, are wrapped in stillness, and paying your respects in the clear morning air is a pleasant way to start the day. It is also known as a shrine of the performing arts, and many worshippers visit this venerable place.

みたらい渓谷は、奈良県吉野郡天川村にある美しい渓谷で、エメラルドグリーンに透き通る清流と大小の滝が連なる約8kmの遊歩道が整備されています。常時開放されているため季節を問わず訪れやすい一方、夏場や紅葉シーズンの土日祝は大変混雑します。水量豊かな流れが作る滝つぼは深い場所もあるため、浅瀬を選んで水遊びを楽しむのが安心です。深い森に囲まれた渓谷ならではの涼しさと美しい水の色を、家族でゆっくり満喫できます。
Tips
水はかなり冷たいため、日差しが高くなる正午以降に水遊びを楽しむのがおすすめです。岩場は滑りやすいので、川用のシューズを準備しましょう。駐車場は数か所ありますが、繁忙期は早めに満車になることがあります。
Tips
The route follows mountain roads, so visiting by car is the norm. Parts of the grounds are unpaved, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Goshuin seals are available at the shrine office.
