Tenkawa Dai-Benzaiten-sha Shrine (天河大辨財天社) is an ancient shrine counted among Japan's three great Benzaiten shrines and widely cherished as the guardian shrine of all Tenkawa Village. Its grounds, cradled by deep mountains, are wrapped in stillness, and paying your respects in the clear morning air is a pleasant way to start the day. It is also known as a shrine of the performing arts, and many worshippers visit this venerable place.

Tips

The route follows mountain roads, so visiting by car is the norm. Parts of the grounds are unpaved, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Goshuin seals are available at the shrine office.

About 1 hour. The quieter morning hours are recommended for an unhurried visit
