About this spot
The water feature (Jabu-Jabu Pond) at Hikarigaoka Park is a water-play area that is free to enjoy. In 2026 it can be used from Wednesday 1 July to Wednesday 30 September, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. However, it is closed from 14 to 21 July, 12 to 14 August, and 14 to 16 September for cleaning and events, so check before your visit. Built mainly around a shallow stream, it lets even small children who cannot yet swim touch the water safely. It sits in one corner of the green Hikarigaoka Park with plenty of shade, so being able to cool off and rest when tired from playing is another welcome point. It is a popular family spot that is easy to drop into as a local outing.

Tips
Admission is free, but checking the official information in advance for closure periods and the day's opening status is reassuring. Even though the water is shallow, do not take your eyes off the children, and laying out a picnic sheet to secure a spot for your belongings makes the visit more comfortable. Bringing plenty of spare clothes is reassuring.
Best time to visit
Entering from around 1 p.m. means steady sunshine and comfortable water play until closing at 4 p.m.
