The pool at Shinjuku Cosmic Center is an indoor pool facility in Shinjuku City. It is open all year from 9 a.m. to 9:45 p.m. (last entry 9:30 p.m., from 8 a.m. in August). As an indoor facility it is unaffected by weather or temperature, and the great appeal is being able to enjoy water play comfortably on rainy days and in the fiercest midsummer heat. Several pools are provided, so everyone from people who want to swim seriously to children who prefer to float and relax can use it at their own pace.

Tips

Checking fees, the day's crowd levels and whether swimming caps are required on the official website in advance is reassuring. It is within walking distance of Wakamatsu-kawada Station on the Toei Oedo Line, an easy location to reach. It often starts to empty out from the evening, so shifting your timing is one option if you want to avoid crowds.

Best time to visit

Entering around noon lets you use the whole afternoon and enjoy it comfortably until evening.
