About this spot

A large roadside station of Takashima City along National Route 161, named after Nakae Tōjū, the "Sage of Ōmi" from Adogawa. The farm stand displays fresh Takashima vegetables, lake fish tsukudani and other local foods in abundance, while the restaurant offers leisurely dining on Ōmi beef and dishes made with local ingredients. The signature specialty is adowberry (boysenberry), Adogawa's local product. Sweets like soft serve ice cream and roll cake are tart and sweet—popular with children and perfect as souvenirs. The facility also displays and sells traditional crafts like Takashima fan bones, making it an ideal stopping point where you can enjoy shopping and dining while touching the region's culture.

Tips

Located at the midpoint of the lakeside drive route with ample parking, making it easy to visit. The restaurant gets crowded around noon, so early lunch around 11 a.m. is recommended. Popular adowberry sweets may sell out in the afternoon, so reserve them if you spot them. Farm stand vegetables and specialty products have fuller selections in the morning.

Best time to visit

Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes required. Arriving for lunch around 11 a.m. before crowds is recommended.
