Known as a place connected with the monk-poet Saigyo, this hermitage conveys the history of haiku. The small garden is planted with flowers and grasses of each season, letting you spend a quiet while in a composed atmosphere. It sits right by the swimming beach, so it is a spot you can drop into easily on the way to the sea.

大磯町の照ヶ崎を含む海岸に広がる海水浴場で、日本で初めて海水浴場が開かれた地としても知られています。2026年は7月12日(日)から8月30日(日)まで開設され、遊泳時間は8時30分から17時までとなっています。落ち着いた雰囲気の砂浜が広がり、家族連れでものんびりと水遊びを楽しめます。砂浜には海の家が立ち並び、食事や休憩、シャワーも利用できます。波打ち際の水遊びから砂のお城づくりまで、夕方まで思いきり夏を満喫しましょう。

Tips

大磯駅から徒歩でアクセスできます。遊泳は無料で、海の家の休憩やシャワーは有料です。夏の砂浜は熱いのでビーチサンダル必携。遊泳時間は17時までなので、着替えの時間も見込んで15分前には切り上げるのがおすすめです。

Tips

It is within walking distance of Oiso Swimming Beach. The grounds are compact, so it can be enjoyed even in a short visit. Stopping by around 11:00 a.m. before sea bathing keeps the day flowing smoothly.
