Get to know the nature and history of the Northern Alps
About this spot
A museum on high ground in central Omachi City, themed on the mountains of Japan. Models and exhibits explain clearly how the Northern Alps formed, the plants and animals there and the history of mountaineering, so you can also grasp that the water in the channel you are about to visit is snowmelt from the Northern Alps. From the observation terrace you can take in the Northern Alps at a glance, and enjoying the view while cooling off indoors is welcome in summer.
Season & hours
Name:
Tips
Tips
It is a few minutes by car from Nyakuichioji Shrine. The building is air-conditioned, which also suits cooling off before river play. The observation terrace is best on clear days.
Best time to visit
