Mita Park Water Play Area (箕田公園)

About this spot

A free water play area in Mita Park (箕田公園) in Suzuka City. Suzuka City's Water Feature Operation Information (as of June 2026) states that the fountain and other water features begin running on Wednesday, June 10, with water flowing between 10:00 and 17:00. Suzuka City lists a water play area among the park's facilities, and the greatest feature of this park is that it faces the Shimomita Coast overlooking Ise Bay. The wooden-deck observation fort commands a view of the horizon, and with an adventure fort, a multipurpose lawn plaza, a slide, swings and a sandpit as well, there is never a shortage of places to play even when the water loses its appeal. Because a sea breeze passes through, many days feel more pleasant here than at an inland park, which is another welcome point. There is no charge, so dropping in only for the cooler evening hours also works.

Tips

The facility is scheduled to be shut down for cleaning on Monday, August 10, 2026. No water runs that day, so shift your plans. The closing date of the season has not been announced, so if you visit in September or later, check that day's operation in Suzuka City's Water Feature Operation Information. The site faces the sea with little to block the sun, so do not forget hats, sunscreen and frequent hydration. The sea breeze can be strong and chilly in the evening, so a light layer to throw on is reassuring.

Best time to visit

About 3 hours. Water runs only until 17:00, so arriving in the 13:00 hour allows plenty of play time.
