About this spot

Shiroko Station, a stop on the Kintetsu Nagoya Line, is the gateway to the seaward side of Suzuka City. Around the station there are restaurants, convenience stores and a supermarket, so you can take care of lunch and shopping in one go. Since you will spend a long stretch of the afternoon at a seaside park, it is reassuring to secure plenty of cold drinks and snacks here. If you follow this course by train, this is also the base for getting on and off. Rather than searching hard for a distant restaurant, eating quickly in front of the station and keeping the afternoon play time long is, in the end, the most comfortable choice with children.

Tips

Restaurants get crowded around noon on weekends and holidays, so if the wait looks long, another option is to buy prepared dishes or bread and eat on the lawn plaza in the park. Top up on towels and plastic bags for water play here as well. In midsummer, an ice pack and a cooler bag keep drinks from going warm.

Best time to visit

About 1 hour. To avoid the crowds, arriving before noon goes smoothly.
