Kensho-ji Temple (見性寺)

About this spot

A temple in the centre of Komono, preserved as the family temple of the Hijikata clan, lords of the Komono domain. The grounds hold the graves of successive lords, quietly conveying the history of a small mountain domain that once governed this land. Surrounded by trees, the site stays cool even in summer, and even a short visit settles the mind. Telling children that a lord once lived here changes how they see the town a little. It is also conveniently placed as a stop on the way to the next destination, Mie Kenmin no Mori.

三重郡菰野町の三重県民の森にある「三重県民の森流れの広場・あさけの流れ」は、公式Q&Aで水遊びのできる場所として通年案内されている無料のスポットです。水深の浅い『流れの広場』と、トンボ池の横を流れる『あさけの流れ』という2か所があり、その日の混み具合や子どもの年齢に合わせて選べます。流れがゆるやかで浅いので、歩き始めたばかりの子でも大人が付き添えば足をつけて遊べます。トンボ池のまわりでは季節の生きものを探せるので、水遊びと生きもの観察を同時に楽しめるのがこの森ならでは。園内には芝生広場、冒険の森、アスレチックコース、ちびっこ広場、自然学習展示館があり、水に飽きても行き先に困りません。園の利用時間は9:00〜17:00、休館日は12月29日から1月3日までで、園内の施設の利用はすべて無料です。

Tips

開設期間は未発表なので、夏以外に訪れる場合は現地の状況を確かめてから出かけてください。流れの底には石があり足を切りやすいので、マリンシューズを必ず用意しましょう。山からの水は冷たく、体が冷える前に上がって休憩をはさむのが安心です。園内は全域禁煙・火気使用禁止でバーベキューはできません。17時に閉園するので、着替えの時間を見込んで16時台には切り上げましょう。

Tips

Visiting is free, but this is a quiet place with graves, so ask children not to run around before you go in. If a memorial service is being held, please refrain from looking around. Parking space is limited, so be considerate and share on busy days.
