The Children's Plaza Jabu-Jabu Pond at Kyoto Prefectural Tamba Nature Sports Park is a water play spot inside the Children's Plaza, a 30,000 m² lawn. Because grass stretches all around, you can climb out of the water, lie straight down on the lawn and let yourself dry. The 45 m giant slide, the underground maze and the combination play structure are right nearby, so being able to move back and forth between the water and the equipment is this park's strength. Admission is free; only the family pool costs extra. The 2026 opening period has not been announced, and in most years it opens during the summer holidays.

Tips

The official information states that the Jabu-Jabu Pond is filled with water only for events and similar occasions, so always check the filling schedule before you set out. The park is open 9:00-17:00 and closed from 12/29 to 1/3. No changing rooms are listed, so wear swimwear underneath or bring a towel poncho to change smoothly. Walking on the grass with wet feet picks up cuttings, so keep a towel nearby to wipe off as soon as you get out.
