A park adjacent to the Higashi-Yoka Tidal Flat and popular with families, offering views of the expansive Ariake Bay panorama. When the tide recedes, close observation reveals mudskippers bouncing across the mud and fiddler crabs waving their large pincers and dancing about. In autumn, salt-marsh plants called glasswort (Suaeda japonica) turn the tidal flat's edge brilliant red, creating a landscape known as "autumn foliage of the sea." The park features large play equipment and open spaces where children can move freely and have a great time. As evening approaches, the tidal flat and sky bathe in rose-pink light, presenting a spectacular finale fitting for a day of waterside exploration.

Tips

Mudskippers and fiddler crabs can only be encountered during low tide hours. Always check the tide table before visiting. The area near the mud can get muddy, so having a change of clothes and towel for children is helpful. Since there is little shade, don't forget hats and water for hydration.

Best time to visit

Plan for about 1 hour and 10 minutes. The time when low tide coincides with your visit is the golden hour for creature watching.
