The Higata Yoka Park Splash Pool (じゃぶじゃぶ池) is a free water play area open in summer as a children's pool where swimwear is welcome. In 2026 it is open from Saturday, April 25 through Wednesday, September 30, and can be enjoyed during the park's opening hours of 9:00-17:00. Both admission and water play are free, so its biggest appeal is the ease of heading out on the spur of the moment on a nice day. When you've had enough of the water, you can head back to the large combination playground, the boat-shaped play equipment 'Ryofu-maru,' or the lawn plaza, drying off before returning to the pool as many times as you like, one of the park's best features. Just to the south, the Ariake Sea tidal flats stretch out, and the wide-open sky you look up at between splashes is something unique to this spot.

Tips

The park is closed on Mondays (or the following day if Monday is a holiday) and during the New Year holidays, so be sure to check the day of the week before you go. Closing time is 17:00, so getting out of the water by 16:45 leaves enough time to change and pack up without rushing. Shade is limited, so setting up a picnic sheet or tarp for a rest area lets you play longer. Wet bodies chill easily in the wind, so bring a few more towels than the number of people in your group.

Going in after 2pm coincides with when the sun softens, letting you play with breaks until closing time
