About this spot

A district in Hamamachi, Kashima City, where a townscape spanning the Edo through Showa eras has been handed down. The street lined with large white-walled sake breweries is called Sakagura-dori, or Sake Brewery Street, and it conveys well how the town looked when it flourished as a brewing town. Venture a little further and there is a corner where thatched-roof townhouses continue, and the way the character changes from street to street is what makes walking here interesting. The roads are flat and the distances short, so families with children can go round without strain. Its advantage is being close to Kita Park and Yutoku Inari Shrine, so you can drop in easily during the morning.

北公園ジャブジャブ池は、鹿島市高津原の北公園にある無料の幼児用水遊び場です。佐賀県公式観光サイト「あそぼーさが」の2026年の掲載によると、期間は7月1日(水)から8月31日(月)まで、利用時間は9:00〜17:00となっています。面積550㎡と広く、最大水深40cmを三段階に調節できるため、年齢の違うきょうだいでもそれぞれに合った深さで遊べます。ろ過装置と殺菌装置が備わっているのも、小さな子を遊ばせるうえで心強いところ。管理棟には更衣室とシャワー室(男女各1室)、コインロッカー(男女各24基)、ラウンジ、野外テラスがそろっていて、着替えも荷物の管理も園内で完結します。水に飽きたら5,500㎡の芝生広場や複合遊具の「憩いの森」へ移れるので、休みながら一日を過ごせます。

Tips

鹿島市の公式案内では開設日は北公園管理事務所へ要問合せとされているため、出かける前に必ず確認してください。温水シャワーは1回100円なので、小銭を用意しておくと帰り支度がスムーズです。コインロッカーは男女各24基と数に限りがあるので、混み合う日は貴重品だけにまとめると使いやすくなります。終了は17:00なので、16:45には水から上がってシャワーと着替えの時間を確保しておきましょう。

Tips

Sightseeing here is mainly a stroll while looking at the exteriors, and walking around is free. People still live along these streets, so agree with your children not to enter the grounds of the buildings and not to raise their voices. There is little shade during summer days, so wrapping up in 30 minutes to an hour is more comfortable. Some sections are narrow, so watch out for passing cars as you walk.
