The Nature Center at Hyogo Prefectural Hitokura Park (兵庫県立一庫公園) is the park's hub facility near the entrance, where you can see displays about the creatures and trees living in the surrounding woodland hills. Being indoors, it is a handy place to cool off and check the park map and routes before walking outside. Working out here where the Hill Stream runs, and where the toilets and rest areas are, makes the afternoon go far more smoothly. 兵庫県立一庫公園丘の流れは、高低差およそ20メートル・全長およそ210メートルにわたって水を流す水景施設です。2026年は7月18日(土)から8月30日(日)まで、10:00頃から12:00と13:00頃から16:00頃の二部制で通水され、12:00から13:00は設備点検のため停止します。9月は土日祝のみの通水です。平らな池と違って斜面を長く流れ下るつくりなので、上から下へ歩きながら水の速さや深さの変化を体で感じられるのが、この場所ならではの面白さ。料金は無料ですが、シャワーと更衣室はなく、スリッパやサンダルでの入水はできません(ウォーターシューズは使えます)。雨天のときや水の汚れ・詰まりがあったときは停止する場合があるため、出発前に公園の最新のお知らせを確かめてください。

Tips

足元は必ずウォーターシューズにしてください。斜面を流れる構造なので、走らずに歩くことを先に約束しておくと安心です。着替えはトイレを使うことになるので、バスタオルを一枚多めに持っていくと困りません。ぬれた服とシューズを入れるビニール袋を人数分用意しておくと帰りが快適です。16:00頃には通水が終わるので、遅くとも15時までには水に入っておきましょう。

Tips

The park car park may charge a fee, so check the signage when you arrive. The Hill Stream stops from 12:00 to 13:00 for equipment inspection, so devoting that hour to indoor time and lunch is an efficient way to build the day. Changing into water shoes here makes moving around afterwards easier. There are many slopes in the park, so a baby carrier is sometimes easier to manage than a stroller.
