Toryunada (闘竜灘)

About this spot

Toryunada (闘竜灘) lies along a stretch of the Kako River (加古川) that flows through Takino in Kato City, a scenic spot where black rocks of unusual shape cover the entire riverbed. The way white water threads between the rocks was said to look like dragons fighting, and that is how the place got its name. It has long been known for sweetfish fishing, and in season you can see river fishing scenes here. Even just watching from the bank is impressive enough that small children come away feeling that a river really does have this much power. Harima Chuo Park (播磨中央公園) is only about 10 minutes away by car, a good distance for a first stop of the morning.

兵庫県立播磨中央公園子どもの小川は、公園の中央広場ゾーンにある全長およそ160メートルの人工のせせらぎです。例年3月20日(金)頃から11月30日(月)頃まで、3月下旬から11月下旬にかけて水が流されます。夏だけでなく春や秋にも通水されているので、暑さの落ち着いた季節に足をひたして歩くのも気持ちのよい過ごし方です。周囲は芝生とベンチに囲まれていて、荷物を置いて見守る拠点をつくりやすいのが家族連れにはありがたいところ。2026年の確定した日程はまだ公表されておらず、ポンプの調整などで臨時に停止することがあります(2026年は7月31日から8月7日に調整の予定)。料金は無料です。

Tips

出かける前に公園の最新のお知らせで通水状況を確かめてください。底や縁の石は濡れると滑るので、水遊び用サンダルかウォーターシューズを履かせ、走らないことを先に約束しておきましょう。着替えの場所は限られるため、バスタオルを一枚多めに持っていくと困りません。ぬれた服を入れるビニール袋を人数分用意しておくと帰りが快適です。

Tips

The rocks become slippery when wet and the area is dangerous when the water is high, so follow the on-site guidance about how far you may go down toward the river. Never take your eyes off your children. There is little to block the sun, so always carry a hat and drinks as you walk. It is some distance on foot from the parking area, so comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
