The Harima Chuo Park Children's Stream (兵庫県立播磨中央公園 子どもの小川) is an artificial brook about 160 meters long in the park's Central Plaza Zone. In a typical year the water runs from around Friday, March 20 to around Monday, November 30, that is from late March to late November. Because water flows in spring and autumn as well as summer, wading through it in the milder seasons is a pleasant way to spend time. The area is ringed with lawn and benches, making it easy for families to set down their bags and create a base for watching over the children. The confirmed 2026 schedule has not been announced yet, and the flow may be halted temporarily for pump adjustments (in 2026 adjustments are planned from July 31 to August 7). Admission is free.

Tips

Check the park's latest notices for the water flow status before you go. The stones on the bottom and the edges are slippery when wet, so have children wear water sandals or water shoes and get a promise up front that they will not run. Changing areas are limited, so bringing one extra bath towel keeps you covered. Preparing one plastic bag per person for wet clothes makes the trip home more comfortable.

Best time to visit

Arrive in the 1 p.m. hour and you will have plenty of time to walk the 160 m flow again and again before evening
