Sarubia Park Splash Pond (さるびあ公園 じゃぶじゃぶ池)
About this spot
The Sarubia Park Splash Pond (さるびあ公園 じゃぶじゃぶ池) is a free water play area at Sarubia Park (さるびあ公園, the landscaped grounds of the Fukusaki Water Treatment Center) in Fukusaki Town, Kanzaki District. It has a splash pond and a babbling stream fed by well water, and the big draw is being able to touch water that stays chilly even in midsummer. The official guidance says it opens in early July each year and runs until around late September, with hours from 8:30 to 17:00. The confirmed 2026 schedule has not been announced yet, so check the town's information for the opening status before you go. The grounds also have an air dome, a large combination play structure and a lawn plaza, so you can stay a long time by switching between the equipment when the children tire of the water and the lawn when they get chilled. The site is unstaffed, so children aged 6 and under must always be accompanied by a guardian.

Tips
Admission is free. The well water is cold, so plan to bring the children out before their lips change color, dry them with a towel and let them rest. Changing areas are limited, so wearing swimwear under clothes is reassuring. Bringing one plastic bag per person for wet clothes makes the trip home more comfortable. The surface of the air dome can get hot in the sun, so touch it to check before letting the children play.
Best time to visit
Arrive in the 1 p.m. hour and you can move between the play equipment and the water until 17:00
