Mochimugi no Yakata (もちむぎのやかた) is a restaurant and local products hall where you can taste the mochi barley that Fukusaki Town has nurtured as its specialty crop. The noodles kneaded with mochi barley have a distinctive chew unlike either soba or udon, and are loved as a dish you can eat only in this town. The products hall also carries processed mochi barley goods and sweets, so you can pick up souvenirs and afternoon snacks here. Resting properly in the air-conditioned dining room means everyone stays energetic through the afternoon water play. Sarubia Park (さるびあ公園) is just a short drive away, so you can move on right after eating.

Tips

Opening days and hours can change with the season, so check the official information before heading over. The noon hour on weekends can be busy, so arriving a little early gets you a seat without waiting. Carrying drinks in a cooler bag makes afternoon hydration more pleasant.
