Nakajima Park (中島公園) has wide lawns and many trees, so laying out a single mat turns the spot into a place for lunch just as it is. There is a shop in the park, so you can also buy extra drinks or ice cream. Play equipment and people out walking are all around, so children do not get bored easily, which is one of the good points of a park picnic. After eating, get ready to change into swimwear and let everyone rest for the afternoon water play. It is close to both Nakajima-koen Station and Horohirabashi Station on the subway, so it is easy to go back for anything you have forgotten.

中島公園水遊び場は、園内の菖蒲池まわりの流れで水遊びが楽しめる無料の水辺です。2026年の開設期間は未発表で、例年は夏休み期間にあたります。札幌市の案内では開放期間・時間の定めは特になしとされているため、当日の水辺の様子を見ながら遊ぶ形になります。深いプールとは違って浅い流れなので、小さな子でも足をひたすところから始められるのが安心なところ。まわりは木立に囲まれていて日差しがさえぎられ、大人は岸辺で涼しく見守れます。園内にはトイレと売店があり、着替えも飲み物の調達もその場で完結します。

Tips

開設期間・時間が定められていないため、出発前に当日の状況を確認してから向かってください。石や砂で足を切らないよう、水遊び用サンダルを履かせておくと安心です。地下鉄中島公園駅・幌平橋駅から歩いてすぐなので、着替えたあとの帰り道が短いのも助かります。夕方は日陰が増えて冷えるので、体を拭いたら早めに乾いた服に着替えましょう。

Tips

On days with strong sunshine, always choose the shade. You are expected to take your rubbish home, so one spare bag saves trouble. You can change in the park restrooms, but there are crowded times of day, so it is wise to do it early. Bring plenty to drink and take frequent breaks.
