Hokkaido Jingu Tongu Shrine (北海道神宮頓宮)

About this spot

This shrine was set up in the city center back when it was difficult to travel all the way to Hokkaido Jingu in Maruyama for worship. Although it occupies a corner surrounded by buildings, the air changes once you pass through the torii gate, and the shade of the trees feels cool. The guardian lion-dogs placed in the precinct have been cherished since long ago, and comparing their expressions with your children can lead to fun discoveries. It is just the right place to make a little quiet time in an afternoon of walking around. From here you take the streetcar back to Yamahana and head at last for the water.

山鼻公園水遊び場は、札幌市中央区の山鼻公園にある無料の水遊び場です。2026年は6月29日(月)から8月30日(日)まで、10:00〜16:00に開放されます。浅い水遊び場なので水深を心配せずに済み、歩き始めの子でも足をひたして遊べます。地元の子どもたちが集まる身近な公園なので、大がかりな施設にありがちな混雑や待ち時間とは無縁なのが良いところです。市電の停留場から歩ける立地で、街歩きの帰りにそのまま立ち寄れます。木陰のベンチで大人が見守りながら、子どもが好きなだけ水と遊べる時間をつくれます。

Tips

水遊び場の運用は天候によって変わることがあるため、出発前に当日の状況を確認してください。足元を切らないよう水遊び用サンダルを履かせましょう。着替えの場所は限られるので、上から羽織れるタオルやポンチョがあると安心です。16:00に終了するため、15時半には片づけを始めると余裕をもって帰れます。住宅街の中の公園なので、大きな声を出しすぎないよう声をかけておきましょう。

Tips

The precinct is small, so agree in advance to walk quietly rather than run. It is also a good chance to teach children the etiquette of worship. Parking spaces are limited, so public transport is the safer choice. There is a subway station nearby, and transferring toward the Yamahana area is smooth.
