The Yamahana Park Water Play Area is a free water play area in Yamahana Park in Chuo-ku, Sapporo. In 2026 it is open from Monday, June 29 to Sunday, August 30, from 10:00 to 16:00. Because the water is shallow, you do not have to worry about depth, and even toddlers who have just started walking can dip their feet in and play. It is a neighborhood park where local children gather, so it is free of the crowds and waiting times that come with large facilities. It is within walking distance of a streetcar stop, so you can drop by on the way back from your city walk. Adults can watch over from a shaded bench while children play in the water as long as they like.
