The Yachidamo Park Water Play Area is a free water play area in Yachidamo Park in Chuo-ku, Sapporo. In 2026 it is open from Monday, June 29 to Sunday, August 30, from 10:00 to 16:00. Because the water is shallow, you do not have to worry about depth, and even children who have only just started walking can play by dipping their feet in. It is a park sized for local children to gather, with no lines or waiting times, so you can spend the time at your own pace. Adults can take in the whole area from a shaded bench, which makes it well suited to a first water play experience. It is within walking distance of Nishi-28-chome Station on the subway, and the short trip home is a help too.

Operation of the water play area can change with the weather, so check the day's conditions before you set out. Have children wear water sandals so they do not cut their feet. Changing space is limited, so a towel or poncho that can be worn over the shoulders is handy. It is a park inside a residential area, so remind everyone to stay quiet in the surroundings. It closes at 16:00, so starting to pack up at 15:30 gives you a relaxed trip home.
