About this spot

A Sapporo city museum in the Miyanomori residential district devoted to sculpture. Seeing the exhibition rooms housed in the building that was the sculptor's studio and then the works placed outdoors, one after the other, is the experience unique to this museum. Unlike paintings, three-dimensional works change their expression with the angle, so children discover the pleasure of walking all the way around to look. Because the scale is not too large, families with small children can stay focused right to the end, which is a real blessing. Inside it is quiet and air conditioned, making it well suited to spending the morning before the sun grows strong.

Check opening hours, closed days and admission fees in the official information. Agreeing in advance not to touch the works puts everyone at ease. Miyanomori is a residential district full of slopes, so comfortable walking shoes are best. Parking spaces are limited, so consider public transport as well.
