About this spot

A facility beside the Ishikari River on the theme of rivers and disaster prevention. Ebetsu is where the Ishikari, Chitose and Yubari Rivers come together, and along with abundant blessings from the water the town has repeatedly faced floods. Inside, models and video make that history and the workings of flood control easy to understand. The windows and the observation space look out over the actual Ishikari River, and the interesting part is that what you learn from the exhibits connects directly with the scenery in front of you. Seeing a great river before playing in the shallow stream in the afternoon makes the impression of water far more three-dimensional.

四季のみちせせらぎは、江別市の遊歩道「四季のみち」に流れる無料の水遊びスポットです。2026年の開設期間は未発表ですが、例年は夏休みの時期に合わせて水が流れます。まとまった公園ではなく細長い散策路なので、歩きながら噴水とせせらぎを行き来できるのがこの場所らしい楽しみ方。道沿いには季節をあらわすモニュメントが点在していて、水遊びの合間に「次は何があるかな」と歩を進める楽しさもあります。流れは浅いので小さな子でも足をひたして遊べ、大人は木陰のベンチから見守れます。利用は無料なので、気が済むまでのんびり過ごせます。

Tips

開設状況は年によって変わるため、出発前に江別市の案内で今年の期間を確認してください。遊歩道沿いのため、水辺のすぐそばを自転車や歩行者が通ります。小さな子からは目を離さないようにしましょう。石畳で滑りやすい場所があるので、水遊び用サンダルを履かせておくと安心です。着替えの場所は限られるため、水着を服の下に着せていくと現地での支度が楽になります。

Tips

Please check the opening hours and closed days in advance. There is little to block the sunlight along the river, so do not forget a hat and drinks when walking outside. There is a car park, making it easy to stop by by car. On some days the river cannot be approached, such as when the water is high, so please do not push it.
