The Wattsu Nature Park Water Play Area is a free water play spot in Kitahiroshima City. The 2026 opening period has not been announced, but in most years the water is turned on to match the summer holidays. Because it is a shallow water play area where even small children can play safely, toddlers who have only just started walking can dip their feet and join in. This park's specialty is the long slide built into an artificial hill. Since it follows the slope as it is, it has real length, and it is fun enough that children want to climb back up and slide again and again. Combination playground equipment is also on hand, so the fun does not stop when they tire of the water, and the quiet, green surroundings let adults watch over things calmly from the shade.

Opening conditions vary from year to year, so check Kitahiroshima City's information for this year's dates before you set out. Wet clothes slide poorly and wear out the slide, so having children change into dry clothes after water play is safer. Changing space is limited, so putting swimwear on under their clothes before leaving home makes preparation on site much easier. The wind can pick up in the evening and chill the body, so bring an extra layer to throw on.
