The Airport Green Space Takamatsu Observation Plaza Water Play Area (空港緑地高松展望広場 水遊び場) is a free water play spot right beside Hakodate Airport (函館空港). In 2026 it will open from Wednesday, July 1, becoming available as soon as preparations are complete (the closing date has not been announced). Its greatest feature is being set inside an observation plaza where you can look up at planes taking off and landing at close range. Having a large aircraft pass overhead while you are in the middle of splashing about makes for an unforgettable day for any child who loves planes. The water is shallow, so small children can wade and play, and playground equipment means the fun continues even when they tire of the water. Parking is well provided, making it easy for families arriving by car.
