Located close to the city center, this is Hakodate's gateway by air. The terminal building has restaurants and shops, so you can stop by for a meal or shopping even without travel plans. On the roof is an observation deck where planes can be seen taking off and landing up close - for children, the greatest attraction of all. The engine noise and wind as an aircraft begins to move carry a force that photographs can never convey. The shops carry specialties from all over Hokkaido (北海道), so gathering souvenirs here is an efficient use of time. Takamatsu Observation Plaza, your next stop, is very close by, so the travel burden is minimal.

空港緑地高松展望広場水遊び場は、函館空港のすぐそばにある無料の水遊びスポットです。2026年は7月1日(水)より、準備が整い次第利用できるようになります(終了日は未発表)。いちばんの特徴は、離着陸する飛行機を間近に見上げられる展望広場の中にあること。水しぶきをあげて遊んでいる最中に、頭上を大きな機体が通り過ぎていく体験は、飛行機好きの子には忘れられない一日になります。浅い水遊び場なので小さな子でも足をひたして遊べ、遊具もそろっているので水に飽きても遊びが途切れません。駐車場が整っているため、車での家族連れにも使いやすい場所です。

Tips

利用開始の状況は準備の進み具合によって変わるため、出発前に函館市の案内で確認してください。飛行機の発着時刻を調べておくと、見どころの時間に合わせて休憩を挟めます。広場は日陰が限られるので、ワンタッチテントやレジャーシートがあると休憩しやすくなります。風の通る場所なので夕方は体が冷えることがあり、羽織ものと乾いたタオルを多めに用意しておくと安心です。
