Standing on the Hokkaido University campus, this museum opens up the results of research the university has built up over many years. Large fossil specimens of dinosaurs and mammoths are on display, and children are captivated the moment they walk in. Exhibits span a wide range of fields from science to agriculture, so adults find plenty of new discoveries too. The building itself, a historic school hall still in use, is part of the appeal, with wooden staircases and high ceilings carrying the weight of their era. Admission is free, so it is easy to drop in.

麻生公園修景水路は、札幌市北区の麻生公園にある無料の水遊び場です。2026年は7月5日(日)から8月23日(日)まで、9:00〜16:00に開放されます。浅い修景水路なので水深を心配せずに済み、歩き始めたばかりの子でも足をひたすところから遊べます。細長く伸びる水路に沿って歩きながら遊べるのは、プールにはない楽しみ方です。地下鉄麻生駅とJRの駅の両方から歩ける立地なので、車がなくても出かけやすいのが大きな利点になります。近所の子どもたちが集まる規模なので、行列や待ち時間がなく自分たちのペースで過ごせます。

Tips

気象状況により期間や開放が変動することがあるため、出発前に当日の状況を確認してください。足元を切らないよう水遊び用サンダルを履かせましょう。着替えの場所は限られるので、上から羽織れるタオルやポンチョがあると便利です。街なかの公園なので、周辺では静かに過ごすよう声をかけておきましょう。16:00に終了するため、15時半には片づけを始めると余裕をもって帰れます。
