This is a large shopping complex directly connected to JR Sapporo Station, with a great many restaurants inside. After walking the campus in the morning, being able to settle down and eat in an air-conditioned place is a great help for families. Many restaurants have children's menus, and the advantage of a station building is that each family member can choose according to taste. Drinks, snacks and plastic bags needed for the afternoon water play can all be gathered here as well. Elm no Mori Park (エルムの森公園) is only a few subway stops away.

エルムの森公園修景水路は、札幌市北区のエルムの森公園にある無料の水遊び場です。2026年は7月5日(日)から8月23日(日)まで、9:00〜16:00に開放されます。浅い修景水路なので水深を心配せずに済み、歩き始めたばかりの子でも足をひたすところから遊べます。細長く伸びる水路に沿って歩きながら遊べるのは、プールにはない楽しみ方です。近所の子どもたちが集まる規模の公園なので、行列や待ち時間がなく、自分たちのペースで過ごせるのが良いところ。木陰のベンチから大人が全体を見渡せるため、はじめての水遊びにも向いています。

Tips

気象状況により期間や開放が変動することがあるため、出発前に当日の状況を確認してください。足元を切らないよう水遊び用サンダルを履かせましょう。着替えの場所は限られるので、上から羽織れるタオルやポンチョがあると便利です。住宅街の中の公園なので、周辺では静かに過ごすよう声をかけておきましょう。16:00に終了するため、15時半には片づけを始めると余裕をもって帰れます。

Tips

The restaurant floors get crowded at midday, so arriving before 12:00 makes it easier to get a table. The building is large, so decide on a meeting point in advance to avoid getting lost. There are nursing rooms and diaper-changing facilities, so you can relax even with a baby. Finish your shopping before the water play, and keep those items separate from the baggage that will get wet.
