A commercial complex symbolized by red brick, built on the site of the Kaitakushi Beer Brewery, Japan's first beer factory. The highlight is the large atrium covered entirely by a glass roof, which feels as open as being outdoors while blocking only the harsh summer sun. Restaurants are gathered here, which helps when everyone in the family wants something different. Eat well and rest in the cool before the afternoon water play. Traces of the Kaitakushi era remain in the brick hall, so simply walking through puts you in touch with the beginnings of Sapporo's industry.

苗穂グリーン公園水遊び場は、札幌市東区の苗穂グリーン公園に夏だけ登場する浅い水遊び場です。2026年は7月3日(金)から8月23日(日)まで、10:00〜16:00に開放され、利用は無料です。水深が浅いので、歩き始めたばかりの子でも自分の足で立って遊べるのが安心なところ。プールのように順番待ちや入れ替えがなく、遊びたいときに入って、疲れたら木陰で休むという自由なリズムで過ごせます。近所の子どもたちが集まる場所なので、その日はじめて会った子と一緒に遊びだすのも、こういう公園ならではの時間です。夕方まで遊んだあと、そのまま歩いて帰れる距離感も、家族連れにはありがたいところです。

Tips

開放は10:00〜16:00です。天候不良や清掃、水質管理の都合で休みになることがあるため、出発前に札幌市の案内で当日の状況を確認してください。更衣室は用意されていないので、水着は下に着ていくか、ラップタオルなどで着替えられる準備をしておくと安心です。札幌の夏は日が陰ると急に涼しくなるので、上がったあとに羽織れる一枚を必ず持っていきましょう。日陰は限られるため、レジャーシートと帽子があると休憩が楽になります。

Tips

Lunchtime gets crowded with families, so arriving between 11:00 and 12:00 makes it easier to get a table. The complex is large, so decide on one easy-to-find meeting point such as the atrium and you will not get lost. Leaving swimsuits and towels in the car and heading to your meal light makes moving around easier. Finishing up restroom and diaper-changing stops here makes the afternoon go smoothly.
