About this spot

A low mountain of about 300 meters in Yamanote, Nishi Ward, long loved by Sapporo residents as a place to walk. Although it borders the built-up area, the air turns to forest as soon as you enter the trail, and the light falling between the trees and the calls of birds feel close at hand. The path is well trodden and the signs are clear, making it easy to walk even with children. You do not have to reach the summit; turning back at an open viewpoint along the way is enjoyable enough. Since water play awaits in the afternoon, the aim of this course is to stop at a comfortable point.

札幌市西区の山の手草ぶえ公園にある「山の手草ぶえ公園水遊び場」は、無料で利用できる浅い水遊び場です。開設期間は2026年6月6日(土)から9月6日(日)まで、時間は9:00〜17:00と、夏をまるごとカバーする長さがあります。水深が浅いので、水に慣れていない小さな子どもでも自分の足で入っていけます。住宅街のなかの公園らしい親しみやすさがあり、地元の子どもたちと自然に混じって遊べるのがこの場所のよさです。入れ替え時間がないため、遊びと休憩を子どものペースで繰り返せます。料金は無料なので、午後だけ立ち寄る使い方もできます。

Tips

終了は17:00です。着替えと片づけを考えて16:45ごろには水から上がりましょう。天候や水温、清掃作業によって利用できない日があるため、出かける前に札幌市の案内ページで当日の状況を確認してください。日陰が限られる時間帯があるので、帽子と日焼け止めは忘れずに。おむつが取れていない子は水遊び用おむつを用意しましょう。

Tips

The trail is a dirt path, so wear comfortable walking shoes rather than sandals. Insects appear in summer, so repellent makes it more comfortable. The area around the trailhead is residential and parking is limited, so consider using public transport. Be sure to bring drinks.
