About this spot

A park in Fukui, Nishi-ku, spreading out at the foot of Mount Gotenzan (五天山), whose rock faces, shaped by quarrying, make a striking impression. Inside there is a large pond, broad lawns and play equipment, and the scene as you look up at the mountain has an openness that hardly feels like the same city. Shaded benches and arbors are scattered about, so families will appreciate being able to lay out a packed lunch at leisure. A walk around the pond is just the right distance for even a small child to complete. Admission is free and there is parking, so you can use the morning hours pleasantly.

札幌市西区の西野北公園にある「西野北公園水遊び場」は、無料で利用できる浅い水遊び場です。開設期間は2026年6月6日(土)から9月6日(日)まで、時間は9:00〜17:00と、夏をまるごとカバーする長さがあります。水深が浅いため、まだ泳げない小さな子どもでも自分の足で入っていけます。山の近い西野の住宅街にあり、地元の子どもたちに混じって遊べる気取らない雰囲気が魅力です。入れ替え時間がないので、遊びと休憩を子どものペースで繰り返せます。料金は無料なので、午後だけ立ち寄る使い方もできます。

Tips

終了は17:00です。着替えと片づけを考えて16:30ごろに水から上がると余裕をもって帰れます。天候や水温、清掃作業によって利用できない日があるため、出かける前に札幌市の案内ページで当日の状況を確認してください。日陰が限られる時間帯があるので、帽子と日焼け止めは忘れずに。おむつが取れていない子は水遊び用おむつを用意しましょう。

Tips

Some areas of the park have little to block the sun, so bring a hat and sunscreen. Keep an eye on small children so they do not get too close to the pond. There is no permanent shop, so preparing a packed lunch and drinks in advance is reassuring.
