Because the water is shallow, even preschoolers who are not used to water can walk in on their own feet, which is reassuring. The park sits in a residential area among the hills, so the breeze is cooler than at parks in the city centre and you can rest in the shade between plays. Unlike a swimming pool there are no fixed time slots, so children can alternate playing and resting at their own pace, and that is the charm of a paddling pool. Admission is free, so dropping in for the afternoon only also works well.

Tips
Closing time is 16:00. Allowing for changing and packing up, get out of the water around 15:45. The facility may be unavailable depending on weather, water temperature or cleaning work, so check the City of Sapporo information page for that day's status before you set out. Temperatures drop easily in the evening among the hills, so bringing one extra layer to put on is reassuring. Children not yet out of nappies should bring swim nappies.
