About this spot

A brewery that has operated in Asahikawa since the Meiji era opens its wooden sake storehouse, built in the Taisho era, as a shop. Inside, the thick beams and board-lined space remain exactly as they were, and it is strikingly cool, as if the heat outside did not exist. The explanation that Asahikawa became a sake-producing area because it is blessed with underground water from the Daisetsuzan Mountains (大雪山系) is a discovery children can relate to right before a day of water play. The shop also carries sake lees, amazake and other items you can share with children. Admission is free and it does not take long, making it a perfect first stop for the day.

豊岡第3公園徒渉池は、旭川市の豊岡第3公園に夏のあいだだけ開かれる浅い水遊び場です。2026年は6月1日(月)から8月31日(月)まで、10:00〜17:00に開放され、利用は無料です。水深が浅いので、歩き始めたばかりの子でも自分の足で立って歩き回れるのが安心なところ。プールのような入れ替えや順番待ちがないので、入って遊んで上がって休むという子どものリズムに合わせた過ごし方ができます。住宅街の中の公園なので、近所の子と自然に混ざって遊びだすのもこの場所ならではの時間です。夕方まで遊んで、そのまま帰れる距離感が日常のおでかけにちょうど合っています。

Tips

開放は10:00〜17:00です。天候不良や清掃、水質管理の都合で休みになることがあるため、出発前に旭川市の案内で当日の状況を確認してください。更衣室は用意されていない前提で、水着は下に着ていくか、ラップタオルなどで着替えられる準備をしておきましょう。日陰は限られるのでレジャーシートと帽子があると休憩が楽になります。上がったあとに羽織れる薄手の一枚は、北海道の夏でも忘れずに持っていってください。

Tips

Admission is free, but check the opening hours and closing days in advance. There is a tasting corner, so decide in advance who will drive so that person does not drink. Products are displayed throughout the shop, so hold hands with children as you walk around rather than letting them run. Follow the signs at the brewery for the parking area.
