About this spot

A large garden laid out on the banks of the Chubetsu River (忠別川), on the south side of Asahikawa Station (旭川駅). The planting centers on perennials suited to the Hokkaido climate, designed so that different flowers bloom one after another through the seasons. It is made up of lawn areas and gentle paths, so children can run while adults look at the flowers, each enjoying it in their own way. Because the breeze blows through from the river, the temperature you feel drops noticeably even in the middle of the city, and that is the charm of this place. It sits right beside the station, so even a short walk before or after lunch is enough to change the mood.

豊岡第3公園徒渉池は、旭川市の豊岡第3公園に夏のあいだだけ開かれる浅い水遊び場です。2026年は6月1日(月)から8月31日(月)まで、10:00〜17:00に開放され、利用は無料です。水深が浅いので、歩き始めたばかりの子でも自分の足で立って歩き回れるのが安心なところ。プールのような入れ替えや順番待ちがないので、入って遊んで上がって休むという子どものリズムに合わせた過ごし方ができます。住宅街の中の公園なので、近所の子と自然に混ざって遊びだすのもこの場所ならではの時間です。夕方まで遊んで、そのまま帰れる距離感が日常のおでかけにちょうど合っています。

Tips

開放は10:00〜17:00です。天候不良や清掃、水質管理の都合で休みになることがあるため、出発前に旭川市の案内で当日の状況を確認してください。更衣室は用意されていない前提で、水着は下に着ていくか、ラップタオルなどで着替えられる準備をしておきましょう。日陰は限られるのでレジャーシートと帽子があると休憩が楽になります。上がったあとに羽織れる薄手の一枚は、北海道の夏でも忘れずに持っていってください。

Tips

Admission is free. There is little shade, so be sure to bring a hat and drinks. If you plan to rest on the lawn, a picnic sheet makes it more comfortable. Some spots along the river have soft footing, so keep an eye on small children.
