About this spot

Adjoining the Chiba Prefectural Chuo Museum, this outdoor exhibit recreates the representative forests of Boso. Walking paths run through coppice woodland and evergreen broadleaf forest, so you can confirm with your own eyes what you learned indoors. The trees grow thick, so it is a relief that much of the path stays shaded even in midsummer. Listening to birdsong and picking up nuts and fallen leaves, the appeal is being able to go at a child's pace. Rather than walking far, make one light circuit and save yourself for the afternoon water play.

千葉市中央区の県立青葉の森公園にある、入場無料の水遊び場「県立青葉の森公園水の広場」です。2026年は6月20日(土)から8月16日(日)までの開場で、時間は10時から16時まで。6月は土日のみ(6/20・21・27・28)、7月上旬も土日のみ(7/4・5・11・12)で、7月14日以降は毎日の開場になります。月曜(7/13・7/21・7/27・8/3・8/10)は休場、悪天候時も閉場になるため、当日の天気とカレンダーの確認が欠かせません。更衣室とシャワーはありませんが、園内にトイレと有料駐車場があり、広い芝生と木立に囲まれているので休憩場所には困りません。料金は無料なので、遊び疲れたら早めに切り上げるといった、家族のペースに合わせた使い方ができます。

Tips

更衣室・シャワーがないので、着替えは車の中や日陰で済ませる想定にし、体を拭くタオルを多めに用意してください。水着の上に濡れてもよいTシャツを着ておくと日焼け対策になります。駐車場は有料で、夏の週末は昼過ぎに混み合うため、午前のうちに停めておくのが安心です。日陰の場所取りは早めに、水分は多めに用意して、こまめに休憩をはさみましょう。

Tips

Mosquitoes are common in this season, so bringing insect repellent makes it more comfortable. The paths are unpaved earth, so shoes you do not mind dirtying are safest after rain. The entrance is on the museum side, and opening hours follow the museum's. Living things may not be taken away, so if you find one, observe it and put it back.
