About this spot

This large shopping mall is a few minutes by car from Aoba-no-Mori Park. It has both a food court and restaurants, so everyone can be satisfied even when children's tastes differ. The air-conditioned interior is also a dependable place to cool off before playing outside. Since the Water Plaza has no changing rooms or showers, buying any towels, spare clothes, or drinks you are short of here makes the afternoon worry-free. There is a nursing room and a baby rest room too, making it an easy midday base even with an infant.

Tips

The food court gets crowded around noon on weekends, so going in a little earlier or shifting to after 13:00 makes it easier to find a seat. Securing a plastic bag for wet clothes and a spare towel here also makes the trip home easier. The parking lot is large, so parking near the exit toward the park keeps the drive short.

About 45 minutes. To avoid crowds, late morning or after 13:00 is most comfortable
