About this spot

A free museum run by a brewery that has made sake in Asahikawa for a long time. Edo-period sake vessels, old signboards and brewing tools are on display, so you can follow step by step why this land became a sake region. The story that Asahikawa sake is supported by snowmelt water soaking into the Daisetsuzan mountain range resonates surprisingly well even with children on their way to play in the water. In front of the building you can draw the spring water used for brewing, and it is a place where locals as well as travelers come to fill their bottles. The exhibition is compact, so even with small children you can go around before anyone gets bored.

共栄公園徒渉池は、旭川市の共栄公園に夏のあいだだけ開かれる浅い水遊び場です。2026年は6月1日(月)から8月31日(月)まで、10:00〜17:00に開放され、利用は無料です。水深が浅いので、歩き始めたばかりの子でも自分の足で立って歩き回れるのが安心なところ。プールのように入れ替えや順番待ちがなく、遊びたいときに入って疲れたら木陰で休むという、子どものリズムに合わせた過ごし方ができます。近所の子どもたちが集まる場所なので、その日はじめて会った子と一緒に遊びだすのも公園の徒渉池ならではの時間です。北海道の夏は日が傾くと急に涼しくなるので、上がったあとの体温調節だけ気にかけてあげてください。

Tips

開放は10:00〜17:00です。天候不良や清掃、水質管理の都合で休みになることがあるため、出発前に旭川市の案内で当日の状況を確認してください。更衣室は用意されていない前提で、水着は下に着ていくか、ラップタオルなどで着替えられる準備をしておくと安心です。日陰が限られるのでレジャーシートと帽子があると休憩が楽になります。上がったあとに羽織れる薄手の一枚は、北海道の夏でも必ず持っていきましょう。

Tips

Admission is free, and checking the opening hours and closed days in advance is reassuring. There is a tasting corner, so decide in advance who is driving and make sure that person does not drink. The shop also has items you can share with children, such as sake lees and amazake. If you plan to draw the spring water, bringing one empty plastic bottle means nothing goes to waste.
