This is 'Funabashi Andersen Park's Rainbow Pond' (ふなばしアンデルセン公園にじの池), the water play area in the Wanpaku Kingdom Zone (ワンパク王国ゾーン) at Funabashi Andersen Park in Funabashi City. In 2026 it can be used from Wednesday, July 1 through Wednesday, September 30, from 9:30 to 17:00. In a typical year, lifeguards are stationed during Golden Week and from July through September, and water quality is managed in accordance with Funabashi City's swimming pool guidelines, making it a reassuring water play spot for families. It's open until 17:00 from July 20 through August 31 and on weekends and holidays, and until 16:00 on other weekdays; outside these hours, the style of play doesn't involve putting your face in the water. The Rainbow Pond itself is free, but a separate park admission fee is required (900 yen for adults, 600 yen for high schoolers, 200 yen for elementary and junior high schoolers, 100 yen for young children age 4 and up, and free for those 65 and older). There's a shop and restrooms in the park, so not having to worry about a place to change or rest is a big advantage.

Tips

On weekdays it can close at 16:00 on some days, so check the closing time before deciding how long to play. It gets crowded from around 1pm to 3pm, so if you're arriving at 2pm, secure a shady spot before worrying about a place for your things. Don't forget water-play diapers for kids of the age that need them. Bodies cool down after playing, so bringing extra dry clothes and towels is reassuring.
