Teganuma Waterside Plaza Splash Pond is the free water play area at Teganuma Waterside Plaza in Abiko City. In 2026 it can be used from Wednesday, April 29 to Wednesday, September 23, from 10:00 to 16:00. It is open every day during Golden Week (April 29 to May 10) and the summer holidays (July 18 to August 31), while in September it opens only on weekends and public holidays up to September 23. It is closed for maintenance on Monday, August 24 and Tuesday, August 25. It cannot be used on days when a heatstroke alert or a photochemical smog advisory has been issued, so check the announcements for the day before you set out. The adjoining Water Hall has coin-operated showers (100 yen for 5 minutes) and coin lockers (100 yen per day), so you can freshen up before heading home, which is a major strength other splash ponds do not have.

Tips

You need 100-yen coins to use the coin-operated shower and the coin lockers, so prepare them in advance. Outside the summer holiday period the open days are limited, so checking the calendar is essential if you go in June or September. It is cancelled on days when a heatstroke alert is issued, so check in the morning when extreme heat is forecast. It closes at 16:00, so starting to pack up between 15:00 and 16:00 lets you leave without rushing.
